The director's claim to fame was directing "The Sandlot." Not a very impressive resume. However, The Sandlot was baseball related and that's probably good enough for Julie even without Senior Austin aboard.
whoa whoa whoa! do NOT knock the sandlot. the following things make it great:
1. a kid who looks like pheno, a high school classmate
2. karen allen
3. denis leary
4. karen allen
also, i know every line. or at least i used to. i'm sure i can get it back.
denis leary would wail on gary busey, and there's a whole team of kids ready to show henry rowengartner what it's all about.
the sandlot is a touching and honest portrait of summer in america. it reminds me of being a kid. rookie of the year is full of medical impossibilities. oh, and the cubs win the world series but we don't get to see it? square.

"yeah, yeah! oscar mayer even!"
