Final Destination 3 (**1/2)

I don't know what it is with these Final Destination movies, but I get a real kick out of them. They're by no means "good" movies. But they are one heck of a guilty pleasure. The second Final Destination is probably my favorite (hard to believe I just wrote that sentence), but for those who enjoyed the previous installments, this third one will do just fine. It offers more of the same: elaborate and gruesome deaths of characters you could care less about. In many ways, the audience is rooting for these characters to die, and the filmmakers certainly do their darndest to give the audience what they want. This is the kind of movie you see with a packed crowd on a Friday night. Feel free to talk during it--there's not much you're going to miss. Or better yet, grab some friends, pizza, and beer and have a good laugh watching it at home. If you're into guilty pleasures that is.
