The Ultimate Julie Movie

Click on the link to read all about a movie that Julie might actually stay awake for.
Sean Astin (Rudy, Mikey, Samwise Gamgee) is going to star in what's being billed as "Baseball's version of Hoosiers." Baseball and Sean Astin? What more could a girl ask for?

100 Most Memorable Movie Quotes

AFI will air one of its annual list specials in the summer--this year, the theme is the 100 Most Memorable Movie Quotes. As I am sure that the AFI will undoubtedly leave out some of the best movie quotes in lieu of just about any line of dialogue from Casablanca, I am asking for your help. Let's compile our own 100 Most Memorable Movie Quotes. I am accepting submissions starting now. Leave 1, or leave 100. I will compile everyone's nominations (and judge them for myself) and then post the definitive 100 Most Memorable Movie Quotes. Let the games begin!

More Superman Casting!

For those of you who doubt whether Superman Returns is going to be any good, the casting has grown even more impressive as of late. Some of these may be rumors, but the source behind it seems "in the know."

Playing Superman's birth parents:
Daniel Day-Lewis (Jor-El)
Famke Janssen (Lara)

Playing Lex Luthor's croney: Kal Penn (the Indian guy from Harold and Kumar)

Other Bad Guys:
Jude Law (General Zod)
Kevin Bacon (John Corbin)

And finally, Barry Pepper will be playing a Daily Planet reporter.

If this casting proves true...well, that is just freakin' amazing.

Worst Movie Weekend of the Year

I know it's the Super Bowl and everything this weekend, but that's not till Sunday. You'd think the Studios could give us something worthwhile. Boogeyman and The Wedding Date? That's it? Weak, Hollywood, Weak.

Coming Soon

What movies are you most excited about this year? I've listed just three of the many I'm excited about below. More will be posted later. Expect King Kong and Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire to be among them.

Most Anticipated in 2005, part 1

1. War of the Worlds: Cruise. Spielberg. Hands down, my most anticipated movie of the year. Posted by Hello

2. Batman Begins: Chris Nolan directs Christian Bale as the Caped Crusader; with a supporting cast that includes: Gary Oldman, Liam Neeson, Morgan Freeman, Ken Watanabe, Katie Holmes, and Cillian Murphy. Time to do the Batman movies justice. Posted by Hello

3. Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith: Can Lucas do it? Can he make viewers forget about Episodes I and II? Will it be dark moody? I sure hope so. Posted by Hello

4. Constantine: Keanu Reeves stars in this comics-based sci-fi horror film. The preview is fantastic. Out February 18. Posted by Hello

5. Charlie and the Chocolate Factory: Tim Burton and Johnny Depp together again. If anyone can remake this film, it's those two. Posted by Hello

6. Sin City: another comic book movie--this one directed by Robert Rodriguez. Out April 1st. Posted by Hello

7. Kingdom of Heaven: Ridley Scott directs what might as well be called Gladiator 2. Posted by Hello

8. Cinderella Man: Ron Howard and Russell Crowe in a "Beautiful Mind" reteaming. Plus Paul Giamatti. The preview's a little self-important, but the movie sure has pedigree. Posted by Hello

9. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Has Tim from The Office co-starring with Mos Def, and hold on Jules, Snape himself. Very funny book. Posted by Hello

10. Deuce Bigalow: European Gigolo: why? Because the first one has its own charms, and heck, the poster's good for a laugh. Posted by Hello

11. Bewitched: I wasn't interested in this till I heard the script. Not your basic TV adaptation. It's weird, like Adaptation or something. Nora Ephron directs. Posted by Hello

What a Cast!

Check out the cast for Martin Scorsese's next film The Departed, a remake of a Hong Kong flick called Infernal Affairs:

Matt Damon
Leonardo DiCaprio
Mark Wahlberg
and
Jack Nicholson

Pretty sweet. Nicholson plays an Irish Mob Boss. Hmmm. And this marks Leo's third movie in a row w/ Scorsese. Leo's his new DeNiro.

Alias: The Best Show on Television

Now is the perfect time to catch up with Sydney and the gang if you've never caught the show before. Plus, this gives me a legitimate way to post a picture of J Gar on my blog without incurring the wrath of the missus. Posted by Hello
