Sky High (***)

This movie has kind of slipped under people's radars, and I think that's a shame because it's a terrifically entertaining and clever family film. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's a mix of Harry Potter and John Hughes' movies, but with a comic book motif. Sky High is your typical high school except for the fact that kids with superpowers attend it. The teens are divided into heroes and sidekicks based on their powers, and it's a neat little commentary on the class systems found in today's real high schools. Kurt Russell has a good time as a superhero father who's pretty Incredible. Director Mike Mitchell keeps things lively, and has cast the movie's supporting characters extremely well. Bruce Campbell, Dave Foley, Broken Lizard's Kevin Heffernan, and Wonder Woman's Lynda Carter all give fine, funny performances. The soundtrack is chock full of memorable 80's hits, and there's a lot of teen angst and hormones running amok. If I were an 8 or 9-year old, this would probably be the best movie I've ever seen. As a 26-year old, it's one of the better films I've seen this year.

"Incredible" is in italics because Kurt Russell's superhero character reminded me of Mr. Incredible from The Incredibles. The italicized "Incredible" is in reference to that film. I do appreciate the sarcasm though, Coco.

These drugs are called statins, and if you have a lower cholesterol problem then you should ask your doctor whether or not you should be taking them. What exactly is good lower cholesterol? It is known in the medical field as high density lipoprotein, or just HDL to make it simple. If your body cannot maintain a proper balance then there are many medications to keep your lower cholesterol levels in check, although it is possible to raise your HDL lower cholesterol levels with exercise and quitting smoking, if you were a smoker. If there is a ratio of below 1 to 5 with your HDL lower cholesterol and your total lower cholesterol level then you are considered okay, and it is best if you can have a ratio of 1 to 3. Your LDL lower cholesterol may go out of control and there will not be enough HDL lower cholesterol to aid in unclogging your arteries. The HDL then comes to the rescue, and unsticks the HDL lower cholesterol from your artery walls, and prevents your arteries from being clogged, and saving you from a possible heart attack. 5, but that could rarely happen naturally in you later years of life. This good lower cholesterol does the exact opposite of low density lipoprotein, or LDL which just build up inside your bloodstream and get stuck on the walls of your arteries. When your body ages, this system falls apart. This gradual breakdown occurs over many years, and takes place in men at about age 45 and in women it happens when they reach menopause.
